Gunsmoke Polo Ranch was established in September 2007 by owner Jim Uys.
Having farmed in KwaZulu Natal and played polo for the past 30 years, Jim gets
immense satisfaction from introducing and developing new players in the sport.
Now based in Gauteng and all his attention and passion to Polo, Jim has established
Gunsmoke Polo Ranch alongside 3 neighbouring polo family farms, 2 polo clubs and
8 polo fields.

Gunsmoke Polo Ranch is situated within a 45 minute drive from either
Johannesburg or Pretoria and is 20 minutes from OR Tambo International Airport.
Facilities:
With a natural and healthy approach to equine management, Jim firmly believes that open
plan or "Cowboy" stables as well as spacious paddocks for daily turnouts creates a relaxed
environment for his hardworking ponies. Gunsmoke Polo Ranch facilities include:
  • a Polo field for regular practice games, for individual exercising and to stick 'n ball
  • a 'wooden horse' to practice your  polo swing
  • a professional exercise round-pen for schooling your polo pony
  • 37 open plan polo stables and 2 tack rooms
  • 9 grazing paddocks
  • Fully trained polo staff to assist in providing the 'complete polo service'
  • The newly established Gunsmoke Polo Club, with a focus on introducing the exciting
    game of polo to beginners and players of all ages.
